30 Minutes in the Life - September In the Sunflowers!

This season is hands down my favorite time of year. Cooled down autumn days equal rich warm colors, the earthy scent of freshly falling leaves and most important of all - fall festivals all over the east end of Long Island.

While Covid has altered the way we do things, it hasn’t hindered our plans. Luckily farm country has enough open space and fresh air to keep everyone safe and happy.

Waterdrinker Farms out in Manorville is a new to us family farm that has something for everyone. Besides the usual tractor pull and barnyard animals, it has a large wooden playground, minigolf, a HUGE airpad, pumpkin patch, a STUNNING sunflower field and possibly the biggest corn maze I have ever seen (so big it gave me massive anxiety - Amelia LOVES to run off and could end up getting SERIOUSLY lost in that thing).

Amelia is now 18 months and about 6 months early for all the things you expect in the terrible twos. She is FIERCELY independent and has to do everything the big kids are doing. She loves climbing, turning objects into clubs and getting extremely dirty.

The farm is not short on dirt and Amelia had a great time rolling in it and eating it. YES. SHE WAS EATING IT.

After a quick dust off and face scrub, I was able to get a few photos of the girls in the field, surrounded by these glorious sunflowers. I’m happy to say that Christmas cards can be checked off the to do list.

Olivia just turned nine earlier this month and it’s really hitting me hard. She’s growing and maturing so quickly that I’m thankful that I have my 365 photos to document how quickly this is all happening.

She loves her alone time (which is hard to come by with her little sister), her electronics and loves sneaking into my makeup and putting on WAY to much perfume.
