30 Minutes in the Life - September in Chinatown
For our thirty minutes this month, we drove into Manhattan for a day in Chinatown.
It’s one of Olivia’s most favorite places and the one specific thing she requested we do for her 10th birthday.
On a slightly rainy and cloudy Sunday morning, we grabbed her bestie Liam and headed out to walk around the neighborhood, check out the different stores, and full up on all things candy, dumpling and Boba.
As soon as we parked, the rain started. Luckily it was pretty mild and had no effect on the day.
I love that every time we come, the same cat is hanging out, right in front of the fish market - just waiting to get something to eat.
Our first stop was Sugar Town. Its an Asian candy store where you can grab a clear baggy and go to town on the numerous gummies and sour straws they carry in bulk from their well stocked shelves.
Next, we went to the grocery store that has more varieties of ramen and chips than you can possibly imagine. She’s obsessed with seaweed chips and spicy shrimp chips. YUCK.
We also looked at a few of the souvenir shops. Liam desperately wanted a katana.
We stopped at a few dumpling stops along the way and John got a Peking duck. His favorite thing.
Our last stop of course was BOBA.
It was definitely a fun day had by all.
