Bring on the Spring - Long Island Photographer | Hello Olivia Photography

So finally, the first inklings of spring are here.  Wait, no - its snowing. Wait, wait - its Spring. I think.

Usually my first signs of the season are when the cherry blossoms and dogwoods start to bud (and they have) - but all this horrible snow, compounded with cold damp weather and gray skies make me feel like the weather is just completely bipolar.

And it bums me out.

So while I am not-so-patiently wait for warmer temps and sunny skies - I bought myself a little happy present.  Emphasis on little...

Wait.... Whaaaaat?    What is this tiny devise?  It's not Canon gear?

Its a Fuji...a mirrorless crop with a FIXED lens!!!!  Even worse, a 35mm equivalent which between you and I is my LEAST favorite focal length of all time!

So what did I do?  I bought it....because I had to.  It was calling for me!

This camera is about the size of two regular (non plus) Iphones staked on top of each other.  Its TINY.  It slips inconspicuously in my pocket, in my bag,  and weighs nothing.  It's my dream come true for a walk around camera.

The best part - it has ISO capabilities up to 12800 and is sharp as hell - even at f2.   That's a win for me.

Enough with the chit chat - bring on the photos:

While I've only had this little guy for about a month and have yet to truly put it though its paces, I'm pretty much in love.... 35mm and all.

The ability to take quality images on the go in such a small package is really outstanding to me.  The color and sharpness of the lens is everything I could ask for.   While I would never give up my precious Mark IV, this Fuji X100f has found a permanent place in my arsenal... or more likely in my pocket (where it fits) ready to go when ever I need it.
