Manhattan Bound - Hello Olivia Photography -Long Island's Family Photographer
Last week, we had a free day with no plans (aren't they the best?). No parties, no playdates or BBQ's. So, being that the weather was overcast I figured it would be the perfect day to walk around the city, and not swelter in the sun.
Anytime we go with my husband, we drive (he's too good for mass transit). I however HATE driving and spending hours looking for parking (Hubby's also super cheap and refuses to pay to park).
So, onto the LIRR we went, from Ronkonkoma to Penn.
Olivia was pretty much enamored with the Train. It was probably the best part of the entire trip.
There was also mad love for the subways too.
We stopped first at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho. I was under the impression that the lines finally died down, but oh.... I was wrong. Since I couldn't possibly wait on a 2 hour line for a donut (with an impatient 4 year old in tow) I settled for the DKA (Dominiques kouign amann) instead.
Think of it as a caramelized croissant. As much as I would love to share a photo, I can't because I honestly ate it in 5 seconds.
Next up was The Children's Museum of Art in Greenwich Village.
After the museum, we took a walk over to Chelsea market. It was really the most perfect say. Not to hot, not to busy and with plenty of things to see and do, and obviously a MILLION things to shoot.
By the time we ate and got back to our train, we were EXHAUSTED. I think we slept the entire ride home. I think next time, we're going to do some uptown exploring with either MOMA or my husbands favorite The Natural History Museum and maybe some Laduree or Madam M (or both).
Until next time!
